It is clear the image that Coolhand poker wants to project, and in their short time in the poker world they have certainly established a brand image that surpasses many sites that have been around for much longer. They are bold in their announcement: ‘No pros, no hustlers, no sharks,’ and they are just as bold in enforcing this policy, both on an operational level and in their bespoke VIP schemes and bonuses that give sharks no value but are very well adapted to the player profile Coolhand Poker are looking to attract. One of the most common acolytes given to Coolhand is that it is ‘clean and fun’, and this can be seen immediately on visiting their lobby which presents a colourful, clean, font page to a site dedicated to keeping the fun in poker. As opposed to some sites that present themselves as something they are not, Coolhand has successfully set itself up as one of the few sites genuinely geared toward the beginner, learner and recreational player.

Winner Poker are well aware that for any site on a popular network the hardest thing is find a differentiating factor, something to make them stand out from the rest. They are also very aware that the ability to do so is very limited in terms of bonuses, tournaments or cash games, and so they have taken an avenue that no other site has taken. |

Sun Poker has always been present on the poker horizon, although it never seems to have quite pushed into the frontline when it comes to a player base. Aware of this Sun Poker has toe-tested a couple of different networks, settling finally for ipoker given the ability to offer some fantastic Guaranteed Events and features previously unavailable on the somewhat dated Wagerlogic software. Sun Poker is a veteran next to the majority of poker rooms. They set up in 1997, becoming the Sun Poker brand we recognise in 2001. It has always been their mission to present themselves as a site that above all else is ‘fun’, as is stated in their online mission statement. This was actively promoted at one stage, but there has been a slip toward a more generic poker platform on the last couple of years, especially since joining the ipoker network, losing a large part of their personality. This trend is evidenced in the telling News section on site which only goes so far as January 2009. But there are still some interesting things on offer at Sun Poker, and there are plenty of people that have found reasons to stick.

Everest Poker is a standalone site in more ways than one. For a site that has rejected the idea of joining a network, runs its own software and is completely independent they have made remarkable progress, with often 15,000 active players on the site at any one time – they have enough traffic, active cash games at all levels, competative GTD tournaments and unique promotions, that it is enough to rival even some of the larger networks. They are, along with Partypoker, holding a unique place in the poker landscape and show no signs of stopping. |

Among all the sites established and recognisable on the ipoker network Titan Poker is the most ubiquitous, it can be seen at the head of most ipoker room lists and with Poker770, VC and Betfred tends to lead the pack when it comes to visibility.
They are relative veterans on the ipoker network, having launched in 2005 when ipoker had yet to secure their top-dog status in the online poker world. Because of its position on the ipoker network it is both able to offer many players what they may not find at other ipoker rooms, but at the same time they can afford to be more aggressive in their strategy to get new players, often resulting in the opposite effect and dissuading players to join. |

Pacific poker is part of the ubiquitous 888.com group, and during its long and lasting presence on the poker landscape it has upheld its standards – providing first class service and consistently improving and upgrading its software to keep up to date. Pacific poker was one of the sites that lost a large percentage of their players to the US legislations but it’s safe to say that Pacific Poker have had a resurgence since then and positioned themselves as one of the leaders in the online poker industry. |

BigBet Poker is not one of the most visible poker rooms on the poker landscape, and many players may be forgiven for thinking that they are somewhat an infant site. But for the lack of visibility they make up for it with a first class service when it comes to the game of poker itself. They have stuck with the Merge network, which although not being among the top few networks, does have a strong player base and host some great poker rooms, BigBet being one of them. |

Of all online poker sites Partypoker is perhaps the most globally recognised brand. Veterans of online gaming they have forged their brand over the years to the point that Party is well known even outside the industry as a byword for poker, casino and bingo online. Since the rise of online poker Party have been there at every step, and with the knock of the US Legislation effectively cutting off a huge percentage of their player base, they have probably done more than any other effected site to recover. They are still at the forefront of the poker world, having recently signed up some big names such as Tony G to join the Partypoker team and further establish the brand as a real competitor for major networks and US accepting sites.
